This Indenture made this ___ day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven, Between Gavin Lawson of the County of King George in the Colony of Virginia -- merchant of the one part and Reubin Bramlett of the County of Faquier and the Colony aforesaid planter of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Gavin Lawson for and in consideration of the sum of Eighty Pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in hand hath before the ensealing and Delivery of these Presents by the said Reubin Bramlett the Receit Whereof he the said Gavin Lawson doth hereby confer and acknowledge thereof doth acquit and release the said Reubin Bramlett his Heirs Executors and Administrators & every of them by these Presents hath granted Bargain and Sold Alien Released and Confirmed & by these Presents doth fully and absolutely grant Bargain & Sell Alien Release and Confirm unto the said Reubin Bramlett his heirs and Assigns all that Message or Tenement & one hundred and fifty two acres of land situatelying and being in the Parish of Hamilton & County of Faquier it being the same mortgage to the said Gavin Lawson by one David Darnall & divided from the lands of one Thomas Carter by a Dividing line across the lands as is mentioned in the last will and Testament of the said Thomas Carter deceased and all Houses, Buildings Orchards Gardens Ways trees Woods Waters Water Courses Ways Fences and all otherProfits Commodities Emoluments Hereditaments and Appertenences whatsoever to the said mentioned bargained Mesuage Tenement or Lands other the Premises or any of them belonging or in anywise Appurtaining or therewith all Usually used occupied or enjoyed or Accepted Reputed taken or known be as Part or Member thereof and all Rents and Services reserved & to be hereafter due & Payable upon any Dem___ or lease or other Estate whatsoever made of the said mentioned Bargained Premises or any part or parcell therof with the Appurtenances unto any Person or Persons whatsoever and also all the Estate Right Title Interest Claim Property and Demand whatsoever of him the said Gavin Lawson his heirs and Assigns of and to the same & also all Deeds and Writings whatsoever touching or concerning the said mentioned Bargained Premises which he the said Gavin hath or may come by without suit in Law To have and to hold the said mentioned bragained and sold mesuage Tenement Lands and Premises with the Appurtenances unto the said Reubin Bramlett his heirs and Assigns to the only Proper Use & behoof of him the said Reubin Bramlett his heirs and Assigns forever to be holder of the Chief Lord of Fee by the Rents and Services for the same due and of right Accustomed and the said Gavin Lawson his heirs and Assigns the said mentioned and Granted Premises with the Appertunances unto the said Reubin Bramlett his Heirs and Assigns shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these Presents against the said Gavin Lawson his heirs and Assigns In Witness whereof the said Gavin Lawson hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and Year first above written.

At a Court held for Faquier County the 25th day of April 1768. This Indenture was acknowledged by Gavin Lawson to be his act and Deed ordered to be recorded.
