Death of an Aged Citizen

Mr. Lewis Bramlett died at his residence in this county, on the morning of the 2nd last in the ninety sixth year of his age. The deceased is the same to whom we alluded only a few weeks since, as in vigorous health for one so old, and the parent of twelve children four girls and eight boys all of whom lived to be fully grown. He gave the services and lives of two sons to the Lost Cause. Thus has been severed another link of the chain that connects the present with the past. The deceased was a citizen highly respected, and although he had reached the deep shades of a long life, there were doubtless many whose hearts experienced a keen pang when the announcement was made, "the old man is dead," for the death of the aged is always a sad event, however ripe for the sickle of the Great Reaper.
