Ambrose Bramblet - 640 Acres - 3 Polls (Captain Hudspeth's District). Note: This is the same district as James Jones I. I call these James Jones's # I (married Elizabeth Forbis/Forbush/Free), # II (m. Lydia Bramblet), # III (m. Ailce Bills). I'm not sure they were all James "Edwin" Jones (# III was). (From Anne Jones Puryear).

Recorded: State of North Carolina, Surry County - August session A. D. 1815. Douglas McMickle made oath and John Dobbins affirmed the noncupative will of James Jones II contained the sentiments of James Jones II and said will was reduced to writing written ten days after the death of said Jones. April 22, 1815. Witnessed April 27, 1815.

Petition of Lydia (Bramlett) Jones, asking that her dower in lands of her husband, be laid off, adjoining William Burch and others. This was done by court minutes 2-26-1836, when 100 acres including the house adjoining Lemuel Jones and his house. Surry Court Minutes, Feb. 1836.

Surry Court Minutes 8-12-1844. James Jones settles estate of Lydia (Bramlett) Jones, dec'd. Estate (Notes & Accounts) left to children and son in law.
Note: James Jones I and Elizabeth were not married until probably 1762 or after (Rowan Court Minutes 1-20-1762 recorded "Marriage Articles"). Daughter Elizabeth born 1765. If according to Mikes's tree, he was born in 1775, he would have been 8 years younger than Lydia if she had been born in 1768.
Also, Samual Callaway, Jr. was the bondsman for James III and Lemuel's marriages.
