Comments: I was looking for information on the Bramlet family and ran across you web site. Our connection to the Bramblet family follows: William G Bramblet and Nancy Caroline Box were married about 1862 in St Clair CO, AL. by the groom's father Wiley Bramblet. William joined the 59th Alabama and was killed at the battle of Chicamauga in 1862/63. We do not have much else other than William's brother James Bramblet married Martha Box, Nancy Caroline's older sister. The book, From Trout Creek to Ragland, contains some history of the early settlers of St Clair County, Alabma. On page 111 (I think this is the book or in the History of Asheville) there is some information on "A Bramlett Family" that mentions there were four brothers who left France and came by way of Virginia to South Carolina. Names mentioned include: Elmore G. Bramblett, and a Louis Bramblett as "one of the earliest four."

Ky 1880 to 1920 you will find William Henry Bramlett and Joann has my Dad William B, Uncle John,Ida J,Martha but knew her as Mattie,Nancy and Wattson.I am at a stand still now cant find out Joann's last name my Mother told me she was Sarah Gardner.I was born and raised in Tenn,my Dad left in thelate 20's and never meet only a few of his family. Comments: To all descendants of Elizabeth Brown and Reuben Bramlett of Saline County, Illinois: I ordered a military grave marker from the VA for our Revolutionary War ancestor Reuben Bramlett in January. It arrived at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado on Saturday! I didn't know where exactly in the old section of the cemetery we were going to put the marker, since Reuben's grave isn't marked. However, there are four unmarked graves on either side of the graves of Reuben's daughter Margaret Bramlett and her husband, Joseph Easley. (Thank heaven the Easley graves are still marked.) The man who takes care of the cemetery probed the unmarked gravesites this morning and found one child's grave just north of the Easley graves and two adult graves just south of the Easley graves. He is going to place Reuben's marker right beside Margaret's grave. He said the custom back when Reuben died was to bury the man on the right and his wife on the left. And that is how the Easley's are buried. The marker is going to be erected this weekend. Reuben is one of five Revolutionary War veterans buried in Saline County, Illinois. Some cousins and I are in the process of planning a dedication ceremony. If you'd like to be involved or want more information, please contact me by E-Mail.

Comments: Re - Reuben & Arthur Bramblett - I found an artice in the Hall Co Libary, which had reference to Hopewell Methodist Church (HallCo) GA. According to the article, the first record of this church was dated June 16 1837. The proberty was donated by David Jay, the deed was witness by Reuben Bramlette, It also shows Arthur Bramblett as being a trustee. This is the Church where by ancestors, Nathaniel, William Washington and John Fletcher Bramlette are buried. Can anyone tell me anything about this Reuben and Arthur Bramblett. Thanks Jeb

Comments: To Jo Dorais: William Bramlitt I is first seen on a deed in Essex Co., VA 1716/1717. To date, there is no record to say when/where he was born. In Caroline Co., VA, 1732, Ann CALLAWAY asked the court to appoint William Bramlitt as her guardian. To request your own guardian, the law said, you had to be at least 14 years of age. From this record, a number of people have speculated that William was married to Ann's sister, Elizabeth Callaway. William was definitely involved with the Callaway family but, so far, the nature of the relationship is pure speculation. There is NO proof William I was married to any Callaway. A neighbor or friend could also be appointed guardian to an orphan. There is NO proof (to date) on the maiden name of Margaret, wife of Reuben. Reuben was involved (per deeds) with the David & Mary DARNALL family, in Prince William Co. VA ,but this does not necessarily mean his wife, sister, aunt (all possibilites) was a DARNALL. He was also involved with the RILEY family and some of them moved (same time)to Bourbon Co., KY. There are lots of errors(speculations and assumptions)in the LDS family record sheets, and elsewhere. However, after much searching (including CALLAWAY,DARNALL and RILEY family records), I've yet to find a legitimate record to back up any of these claims. Gale Bramlett
