Comments: what a wonderful page. My father is kenneth ray bramblett and his fathers name is james thomas bramblett. I really do not have much info for his parents divorced over 60 years ago. I do know that my grandfather is deceased and spent his later years in grants pass, oregon. I do have info that he was from Texas and understand that his family moved cattle along on the chesum trail.

Comments: My great, great grandparents appear in the 1860 census for Navarro County, TX. Their names were Reuben M. and Elizabeth Jane Bramlet. Reuben was a Confederate cavalryman (19th Texas Cavalry). My great grandfather Reuben McKendrick Bramlet was born in Texas in 1870 - it therefore seems evident that my GGGF Reuben M. was alive in 1870. However, he disappears from the records after 1867 (the last year he paid property taxes in Navarro County.) Lately, I've wondered about the possibility of him joining one of the many great cattle drives from Texas to Kansas, and being lost on the trail. Is anyone aware of records that show the individuals making those cattle drives? I know for a fact that many young discharged Texas Confederate veterans signed on as "cowboys" for the trail drives.

Comments: I come from Elizabeth Bramlet, born 1822,daughter of Benjamin and Mary Polly Brown . Elizabeth married Andrew H. Benson, who was a Baptist preacher in Gallatin or Saline County, Illinois. They had a son named Charles A. Benson, born around 1858. He marrried Sarah Rupard in March 1880. They had my grandfather on Dec. 12, 1880. Comments: My mother inlaw was here for a visit and got me staerted with this. I'm the daughter of Joe and Mary Evelyn Mobley. Mary Evelyn's maiden name was Bramlett. She was killed in a motor cycle accident when I was very young, so I don't know much of her side of the family. Her mom and dad was Cleve and Ava Bramlett, this is as far as I know.

Comments: I never realized how many Bramblettes (and other spellings) there were until today! I am the daughter of Denis Bramblette, who is the son of Lee (born Lelan) Clarke Bramblette. Lee added the final e to the surname, although his siblings do not use it. Lee was born in South Dakota I believe and later moved to northeast Iowa. His father was from Kentucky. Lee had 2 brothers, Raphe and Dudley, and two sisters, one of whom is still living in Ames, Iowa, Mary Ellen Bramblett Brown.I have more information on these family members and a bit more about my grandfather's father and grandfather, but that is all. My father, Denis, currently lives in Tampa, Fl. I am originally from Cedar Falls, Iowa, and have a sister theres, Amy Jo Brandy Bramblette Jochumsen. I had a lot of my family history on my maternal side but I loaned it to my aunt in 1996 and she was to copy it and mail it to me. I have attempted to get it back a few times but I never have gotten it. As far as my memory goes, which very well could be wrong I will give you the following information that I think is somewhat correct. My mother was born Beatrice Brothers- father was Walter D. Brothers-mother was Leona Elaine Squire-Leona's mother was Julia Knapp, Julia's father I don't recall and her mother,Elizabeth Matilda Bramlett, Elizabeth's father was Sanford Bramlett and grandmother was Margaret Buchanan. I hope this is correct. I had this side of my family traced back to Obion County Tennessee and don't recall the dates. Somehow there is a tie on grandma's side with Edward Doty from the Mayflower and I traced one line back to the 1500's to Sir Walter Wright from Essex England. Currently I am not working and have been thinking about my family tree again. If I get a chance (hopefully this year to go to Idaho)I will attempt to get back my information. Otherwise I will be again starting from scratch. As I said this information may not be correct but it's the best I can do right now.
