James Monroe Esquire Govenor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to all to whom these presents shall come greeting know ye that by virtue of a land office Treasury warrant number eighteen hundred and eighty nine issued the fourteenth of April seventeen hundred and ninety six, There is granted by the said Commonwealth untio Reubin Bramblet a certain tract or parcel of land containing fifty four acres by survey bearing date the nineteenth of December seventeen hundred and ninety eight lying and being in the County of Bedford, on Shocco Creek and bounded as followeth to wit, beginning at Alexander Simmon's corner pointers...... to pointers in Bramblet's line.......with its appurtenances to the said Reubin Bramblet and his heirs for ever, In witness whereof the said James Monroe esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond, on the Eleventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and one and of the Commonwealth the twenty fifth,
